Building financial confidence in Cardiff's young people since 2019
In 2019, our founder Sarah Williams noticed something troubling while teaching secondary maths in Cardiff. Students could solve complex equations but struggled with basic budgeting. They'd never been taught how money actually works in daily life.
That observation sparked an idea: what if we created engaging, practical financial education specifically designed for young people? Not dry textbook lessons, but interactive workshops where children could experiment with real-world money scenarios.
Five years later, bloom-bits has helped over 850 young people across Cardiff develop stronger money management skills. We've partnered with local schools, community centres, and families who believe financial literacy shouldn't wait until adulthood.

Financial education should be available to every child, regardless of their family's economic background. We keep our programmes affordable and offer scholarship places each term.
Theory without practice is forgettable. Every concept we teach comes with hands-on activities that let children apply their knowledge in realistic scenarios.
A seven-year-old and a seventeen-year-old need different approaches. We carefully tailor content, language, and activities to match each age group's cognitive development.

What makes bloom-bits different from traditional financial education.
Children don't just hear about budgeting—they manage pretend budgets. They don't just learn about saving—they set goals and track progress. Experience cements knowledge.
Money shouldn't cause anxiety or confusion. We build healthy attitudes toward finances, teaching that money is a tool to be understood, not feared.
Parents receive regular updates and take-home activities. Financial education works best when reinforced at home, so we make that easy for families.
